About Me

Jen Millard Photography

Hey, I’m Jen and I’m a full-time photographer specialising in wedding and family photography (although you’ve probably already worked that out)!

I live in Solihull with my amazing hubby, our two gorgeous children and I travel all over the place documenting all kinds of happiness with my cameras. I can honestly say I have the best job in the world.

Things I love: a good film, forests and mountains, all animals, travelling (my favourite part if the world is Latin America), geeky space stuff and dancing. Oh, and taking photos.

I actually love being behind the camera as I’m not that comfortable in front of it, so I can totally relate to those of you who don’t like having your picture taken. With this in mind I have developed my style to try and put people at ease and have a few tricks up my sleeve to help with this!

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

My Approach

If you want a photographer who won’t boss you around and make you feel awkward, then you’ve come to the right place. I like to keep things fun and relaxed, I’ll blend in with your guests and you’ll hardly even notice that I’m there documenting it all for most of the time but then I’m also not shy to get involved in the action when the time is right. I’ll chat to your mates, cry at your speeches and don’t be surprised if I boogie with you on the dancefloor. I LOVE being a part of people’s weddings and I’m truly honoured that I get to be the one to immortalise it all with my images.

My editing style

Most photographers pride themselves on having a set editing “style”, however I only have one rule - to keep it timeless! I don’t use whatever the latest trendy pre-sets are, as this might look cool now but trust me, you might not think so ten years from now and I want you to love your photographs FOREVER! I do of course edit every single photo I deliver, so you will still receive high quality professional looking images.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Capturing great family photos is so much more than just being good with a camera; it’s about having a real connection with the whole family and making the experience fun for everyone involved. That’s why my approach to your session is designed to put you all at ease and get the kids to enjoy themselves. I have kids of my own and I know how quickly they can get bored. Think of your photoshoot as more of a mini adventure rather than standing around awkwardly whilst having your photo taken. We’ll play games, interact with each other and those smiles will be real, not forced.

I normally do most of my family sessions outside (weather permitting of course) and ideally at “golden hour” when the light is the most beautiful.
