FAQs

My business is based in Solihull, West Midlands but most of my family now live in Dorset, so I also have a base down there. However I’m happy to travel to pretty much anywhere.

There is no travel fee for weddings or engagement sessions within 60 miles from my Solihull office (B92). If the distance to your wedding exceeds this, I will work with you to determine the appropriate fee to cover my travel expenses and of course keep this as low as I can.

Yes, I LOVE to travel for weddings. I’m sure we can work something out.

If I were to edit all the images you’d be waiting until your anniversary to get your photos and trust me, you don’t want every single photo! I do all the hard work of sorting through them, as there will be many of the same shot, some where people are blinking or which are just unflattering, some out of focus, test shots etc., so I take all those out and just leave you with the best ones. Believe me this is a very time consuming process and I’m sure there are better ways you’d rather spend your free time than sorting through thousands of photographs.

I then carefully select for editing the very best images and any that I know would be important to you, so when they are presented to you they beautifully tell the story of your day. I do aim to give you as many edited photos as I can and I will never deprive anyone of a beautiful photo or restrict the number of images that I deliver based on a certain quota.

This is kind of a ‘how long is a piece of string’ type question but to give you an idea the minimum is about 250 edited images but often way, way more.

It all depends on how long I’m there for, whether or not you have a second photographer, how much is going on, how many group shots you require, if you have the photo booth... you get the picture.

Generally I don’t include these but I would never refuse a request if you ask. I’m not a big fan of giving people the unedited ones, as you’re paying me to create beautiful images for you and the editing process is a big part of that. Also, the unedited ones really don’t look that great, this is mainly because I shoot in RAW, as this gives me a lot more flexibility with editing, however this format does look quite dull compared to images shot in jpeg so without editing they won’t look amazing.

Of course! I am fully insured including public liability and would be happy to provide your venue with a copy of my insurance certificate if required.

Always!

I studied photography as part of my HND in Media at University back in the day when people still used darkrooms, so I do have this qualification to my name. However I’d say that most of the skills I use today I’ve picked up through my passion for photography over the years. Technology is constantly changing and because I have a genuine interest in what I do, I’m always trying to keep up-to-date with the latest developments. I’m always attending workshops and getting involved in the photography community, basically there is always something new to learn, no matter how experienced you are.

Yes, depending on what it is of course. I do commercial photography, professional head shots, events such as christenings and birthday parties, so please feel free to enquire.

You will be granted full-printing rights to your images so you can print them as many times as desired and share them with whoever you like. The full copyright does remain with me meaning you cannot, without my permission, submit the images for publication or sell images for advertisement/profit (magazines, books, blogs, etc.).

Only if you’re happy for me to do so. I always check with my clients if this is something they want and respect the wishes of those who would prefer not to.

Yes. Just send me a message with details of the image you want and the approximate size you require and I’d be happy to send you a quote.
